Interesting facts about me

My love of horses goes back farther than I can remember maybe even before I could walk. Growing up in Ohio, now residing in the south (yes I know, I'm a carpetbagger) in a suburban neighborhood my friends and I would play with imaginary horses. There were no aides like Nitendo to fuel our imaginations, our equestrian dreams would still rival any games on the market today!

An over active imagination and endless hours of daydreaming in school would end up with phone calls from the teacher pleading with my mother "Get the girl a horse already!" Fast forward 20 years and 2 kids later I finally got my first horse at age 26!

During my teen years I would secretly get up before the sun came up to care for 2 neglected horses, removing imbedded feces from their mane and tail and cleaning out fetlock deep manure in a nearby farm when the owners were out of town. I continued to tend to them to the best of my abilities without them knowing. What hurt me most was seeing their toes grown out in curly-cues and I was too young to know what to do or that there was a place to go to report this problem.

At present, my loving husband and I have been married 22 years and we are parents to two wonderful Christian boys age 16 and 20, and are recently proud owners of 2 beautiful TW geldings.

I am currently running a business at home www.coventryheirlooms.com (sorry, shameless plug) which fortifies the income to take care of the horses.

I look forward to learning more about horses and others like me who love them and hopefully someday my husband and I will meet up with a local riding group!

My favorite brands

Dixieland Saddles http://www.dixielandgaitedsaddles.com/
Amish made gaited saddles designed for the gaited horse. Love their saddles! I plan to get one for my husband ASAP
